The 2015 conference “Science in Public: research, practice, impact” was hosted by Ann Grand, Laura Fogg Rogers, Margarida Sardo, Jane Wooster from the Science Communication Unit at the University of the West of England, Bristol, on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th July 2015.

Thankyou all – to the organising team, all speakers and participants for a lively, friendly and productive conference!

The full conference programme with abstracts is available here: you can also find a Storify of Twitter commentary from #SiP2015 here.

Keynote speakers

The Thursday keynote speaker for 2015 was Professor Maja Horst,  Department of Media, Cognition and Communication, University of Copenhagen, who spoke on “Culture, identity and the eco-system of science communication”.

On Friday Paul Manners, of the National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement, closed the conference with some reflections on the previous two days, and a unique discussion of bringing the wonder back to science communication.

The conference was preceded by the International Network for Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST) Doctoral Summer School on 7th and 8th July, which brought together 24 international PhD students researching a wide range of topics in science communication.
